How to join your local history society

The Shaftesbury & District Historical Society is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, run entirely by volunteers.  It aims to encourage the appreciation, study and enjoyment of history by hosting a winter season of talks by visiting speakers, and by maintaining a museum of artefacts reflecting the history of the area, and a library of books and documents of local historical interest. New temporary exhibitions are staged each year.
Why not become a member where your annual subscription [£20 for one individual; £35 for several family members residing at the same address; £3 for a student] will help to support Gold Hill Museum?

Membership is an enjoyable way to learn about history in the company of others with similar interests. New members are always welcome. Many also like to become volunteers, front of house or behind the scenes.
